As mentioned in the October 2008 issue of PSN, NSS-9 is being readied for launch on February  9.

To be launched from Kourou, French Guiana the satellite will be lifted into orbit by an Ariane 5 launcher with Hotbird 10 and 2 other French defense early warning satellites.

The satellite carries 28 active C band transponders. The West hemi beam will cover Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Philippines, and the Pacific Islands.
